Anna
Bergman, hailed by The Washington Post as "a vocal citizen of the
world?who has triumphed in everything from Broadway-flavored tunes
to opera arias and the sultry innuendoes of the cabaret chanteuse",
most recently performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
in the Sondheim Celebration production of A Little Night Music and
in her solo concert-cabaret Melody, Melodie: A Celebration of Song
from Berlin to Bizet.
Anna enjoys an international concert career. She has starred in
Carnegie Hall's centennial tribute to Ira Gershwin, Anniversary
Galas for the Theatre Guild (London) and Town Hall (New York), and
in concerts at The White House, The Aspen Music Festival, with The
New York Festival of Song, The Lyrics & Lyricist's Series, and The
Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Conventions in New York, Chicago
and Philadelphia. Overseas, Anna has performed in Europe, South
America and the Caribbean. She has performed roles with major theatres,
music festivals and opera companies in the U.S. in such roles as
Masha in Three Sisters, Donny in The Cryptogram, Cordelia in Falsettoland
, Jenny in The Beggar's Opera, Guenevere in Camelot, Kate in Kiss
Me Kate, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance and Valencienne in The Merry
Widow. Most
recently she garnered rave reviews as Diana Devereaux in Mr. Gershwin
Goes to Washington at The Music Festival of the Hamptons and for
her performance in the critically acclaimed New York world premiere
opera Blood on the Dining Room Floor. Anna has been performing her
acclaimed concert-cabaret Souvenir to sold-out venues in New York
at The Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel and Arci's Place as well
as other cities like Washington, D.C. at The Corcoran Gallery of
Art.
In September 2002, her debut solo CD Souvenir was released to coincide
with the opening of her new show in New York, Melody, Melodie: A
Celebration of Song from Berlin to Bizet. Other upcoming engagements
include performances with The Four Nations Ensemble, at The International
Festival of Musical Theatre in Cardiff, Wales and The Caramoor Center
for Music and the Arts.
