Anne Briggs is
one of America's foremost solo baroque flutists whose discography
of the music of Handel, Telemann, Vivaldi, Rameau and Bach has received
international critical acclaim.
She has concertized extensively in the United States, Canada and
Australia, including appearances at the Library of Congress, the
Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Frick Collection. She has performed
with numerous original instrument ensembles, the Smithsonian Chamber
Orchestra, the Classical Band, the American Classical Orchestra,
and the Philadelphia Classical Orchestra, among them, and was a
member of the Aulos Ensemble for twenty years.
She has been a featured soloist at the Mostly Mozart, Bravo Colorado,
Chamber Music Northwest and the Berkeley International Music Festivals.
Ms. Briggs has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Orpheus
Chamber Orchestra and with St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble.
A graduate of the Juilliard School and a Fulbright Scholar, she
studied the flute with Jacob Berg, Julius Baker, and Jean-Pierre
Rampal.
