Antonio Campillo Santos, traverso
Born in Madrid (Spain), Antonio Campillo Santos encountered the traverso early on and began his studies with Agostino Cirillo, Frank Theuns and Guillermo Peñalver.
In 2001, he finished his studies in modern flute and moved to The Netherlands to begin his Bachelor Degree with Wilbert Hazelzet, at the Conservatory of Utrecht. He then went on to continue his studies at the Conservatory in Barcelona (ESMUC), with Marc Hantai, concentrating specifically on the classical traverso with keys. Mr. Campillo holds a MM degree in Historical Performance from Juilliard School with Sandra Miller.
Antonio Campillo collaborates with various baroque orchestras and ensembles: Juillard415, Los Músicos de su Alteza (SP), La Capilla Real de Madrid (SP), El Concierto Español (SP), Hippocampus (SP), the Scholars Baroque Ensemble (UK), Madrid Symphony Orchestra (SP), La Tempestad (SP) Helsinki Baroque Orchestra (FI) and Capella Cracoviensis (PO). He has had the opportunity to work under the direction of William Christie, Jordi Savall, Masaaki Suzuki, Ton Koopman, Paul McCreesh, Richard Egarr or Gottfried von der Goltz.
